Still waters and strong currents.

Big day today, sold three things. One was a CD, so I won’t bother with it, unless I ever do a CD post. The other two were both of my Mobb Deep LP’s… Which I only posted two days ago.

Firstly, Hell On Earth for $25

And then, The Infamous, for $55:

Again, of course, I have never heard Mobb Deep, as far as I know anyway. I assume that they are some gangsta rap kinda thing? Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have bought them. All I know is that they are both double LP’s, so I shudder to think how much it will cost to ship four LP’s to Italy!

On to the catch-up… For many years now, the Butthole Surfers have been one of my favorite bands. I treasure my butthole surfers records! Except for maybe two. My 10” of Pepper, and my LP of Electriclarryland, which I believe is the album that Pepper is from (well, maybe I don’t treasure my 7” of Good King Wencenslaus either…). I even liked Independent Worm Saloon, even though it was a major label release and, in those days, liking anything from the majors was a tough step for me. Anyway, after IWS, I started to have some odd feelings about the surfers. Like they had lost their way. When Electriclarryland came out, I bought the LP, just because. But I never had any interest in hearing it, whether out of fear of hearing that they had truly lost their way, or from fearing that I might like something that I didn’t want to like I don’t know. Regardless, I never heard that album, but I’ve had it all these years and figured I may as well move it out of my Surfers selection. Seemingly, it was worth $50, So goodbye to this…

Now, if only that Pepper 10” was worth anything…

After that, the action stopped. I went a week and a half with no bites. That spell was broken with this next one, Benediction, The Grand Leveller. Which I did not take a picture of.

I don’t actually know much about Benediction. Back when I worked at 2nd Ave. their CD Grind Bastard came out. I liked it. So the times that I stumbled on their LP’s, I bought them. But, again, I never played them, so I don’t know what’s what. I don’t even remember Grind Bastard. But I still kinda liked having the records. But now, nah. for $30 I figured I’d pass it on.
