167, 168 and more…

Shoot, now that we’ve run clean out of Nashville and Friday Night Lights, we’ve had to start digging. Of course, my trash my Warehouse 13 won’t get us far… Extant is just a bit to mediocre and sci-fi… ALl the blogs seems to list tha same shows, either Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Rectify and all the standard high-quality shows, that we’ve already watched. Then I stumbled onto Digital Trends… The drama section of their Best Netflix shows brought up some good-sounding shows that I haven’t ever seen mentioned before… Namely, Halt and Catch Fire and Damages. We opted to go for Halt and Catch Fire… Obviously, AMC is trying for a similar turn as another Mad Men. Not sure if it will catch on quite like that, but I sure like it! A 1980 period piece about the Texas computer business… Plus a great soundtrack! The first two songs I recall hearing in it were by XTC and the Vandals, two bands that I had quite a hankering for in the past.

Speaking of music and the past, I did ship out two records today… Orders 167 and 168, as you may have surmised.

Firstly, a record I was never to sure about… Pantalgia – An International Death Metal Compilation.

I don’t recall where I got this, but I’ve had it for ages. A 1992 release from Germany’s MBR Records, it featured some pretty classic death metal bands, most obviously Crematory and Therion. Now I’d never listened to it, being not much of a Death Metal fan, but I still thought it was pretty cool. I did play one of the songs before I shipped it out and I thought it sounded pretty good. Anyway, gone to Brazil, as they say.

Next, I did some price reductions a couple of days ago, one of which was moving Dropkick Murphy’s Do or Die from $15 down to $10. I guess that worked…

I don’t think I’ve listened to this since it first came out. I remember liking it alright, but I bought it because I wanted to like Oi. Not sure if this was Oi, not sure if I really liked Oi anyway, but I bought it anyway and their it sat. But now, I’ve sent it off to Vermont. The first record I have shipped in state!
